Wands are formed and rolled into a bed of ground petals, coating them with a dusting of color and life. It is both lively and soothing all at once, wonderful for entertaining, weekend afternoons and cleaning rituals.

The genus of Marigold is Tagetes, named for the Etruscan prophet by the name of Tages who taught others divination. Throughout the globe, marigolds live true to their name, and captivate with their bright blooms and controversial aroma. They are vital to celebration and ritual in Indigenous Latin America, Hindu practice, beloved by Buddhists, and Catholics. Marigolds can represent the sun and resurrection, and death and despair. This duality is what brings it its power. They are cempasúchil, flowers so bright and fragrant they guide lost souls, and sacred to the Aztec and the goddess Mictecacihuatl whose role was to guard the bones of the dead. These flowers are dear to their homeland, transmuting Indigenous practice to modern practice post Spanish-colonization, always to be found in beautiful ofrendas and Mexican folklore.

How to use: Ancestor is made in small quantities and meant to burned with intent. Like wine, the desired qualities of incense improve with age and will only intensify with time. Ancestor burns best in an upright position with open air flow. Never burn incense in unventilated spaces.
